Professor of Low Impact and Sustainable Buildings, Coventry University

George took up the post of Professor of Low Impact and Sustainable Buildings & Business Affairs Director at Coventry University in January 2012.

Prior to this George was Head of Sustainable Development and a Director with Willmott Dixon Group, a company committed to taking a leadership role in the built environment where he developed and implemented their sustainable development strategy. Before that appointment, he was Director of Sustainability at the Building Research Establishment (BRE)

George is an alumni of the Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership (1997); Chair of the Sustainable Development Foundation and a UK Green Building Council Ambassador.

He has been a member of a number of Government task forces, the most recent of which was the Green Construction Board’s Knowledge & Skills Working Group.

In 2008 he was voted by a distinguished panel of judges brought together by Building Magazine as being one of the top ten green gurus who had most influenced and impacted the green building movement in the UK. At the Building Magazine Green Guru 2009 Awards he was voted as the ‘green guru contractor’.
