PhD Researcher, School of Applied Social Science, University of Brighton

My research interests focus on the meaning of ‘Ageing in Place’ from different perspectives, such as the symbolic meanings of home for old people, the political meanings of ageing at home and the impact of policies which suggest Telecare as a possible solution to the increasing ageing population in Western industrialised countries, in particular in the UK.

My PhD research project, Telecare, care and a sense of home, has investigated how older people experience new care technologies and how care and a sense of home may be modified by remote care technologies.
