Giles Thomson

Dr Giles Thomson is a senior lecturer in the Department of Strategic Sustainable Development in Blekinge Institute of Technology in southeast Sweden. His research involves comparative studies, policy analysis, workshops and scenarios to explore scaling sustainability in urban environments. A practitioner prior to academia, he has worked as an urban planning consultant in the UK, US, Middle East and China. He has been part of two major Australian transdisciplinary research groups - the Australian Sustainable Built Environment national research centre, and the Co-operative Research Centre for low carbon living. He has published on decarbonization, transport planning, green infrastructure, transit oriented development and regenerative cities.
