My research interests are in understanding the aetiology of health behaviours and health inequalities, and in understanding the theoretical basis, implementation, functioning and effectiveness of interventions to improve public health. My original disciplinary background is in psychology, and I am experienced predominantly as a quantitative researcher, having performed and published statistical analyses from a wide range of large public health studies. However, I am interested in the development of mixed-method, interdisciplinary approaches to evaluation and my recently submitted PhD thesis focused on developing a mixed-methods framework for process evaluation within complex public health interventions.
