Gregory T. Papanikos

Honorary Professor, Department of Economics, University of Stirling

Dr. Gregory T. Papanikos is the founder and current President of Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER). He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from the University of Ottawa (Canada). He taught in universities in Greece and Canada, has published widely in academic and policy journals such applied economics, journal of policy modelling, economic modelling etc.

He has successfully supervised a Ph.D. thesis with the Faculty of Education, University of Strathclyde, and led several externally funded research projects. Dr. Papanikos was the General Secretary of the Social and Economic Council of Greece from 1997 to 2011. Along with Professor Sharon C. Bolton, Gregory is leading the development of an Anglo-Hellenic Doctoral Community based in the Department of Management, Strathclyde University Business School.

He is a visiting professor of economics at the University of Stirling.
