I am fascinated by the past and have a wide range of research interests, including zoo history, the history and archaeology of bears in Britain, human evolution and cave archaeology. All involve the study of bones, and what they can tell us about people and animals in the past - from when our early ancestors were predated by sabre-toothed cats in Africa to when we began to capture wild animals for display and profit.
