Lecturer in Social Epidemiology, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine

Heidi Stöckl is a Lecturer at the Social and Mathematical Epidemiology Group and the Gender Violence and Health Centre in the Department of Global Health and Development at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

She hold a PhD in Evidence-based Social Intervention from the University of Oxford, Nuffield College in 2009, funded by a Rhodes Scholarship. In the three years since her PhD she has further pursued research on the prevalence, risk factors and health outcomes of intimate partner violence, funded by a MRC-ESRC interdisciplinary postdoctoral fellowship.

Over the next three years as a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow she aims to link her current areas of research to design of an intervention addressing intimate partner violence and improve mother to child transmission of HIV treamtent compliance.
