I have an interdisciplinary background having completed my Magister Artium in British Cultural Studies, Economics and Law in Germany. I worked on research projects in cultural and environmental history at Nottingham University and the National Forest Co., and completed my PhD in Sociology before joining Cardiff Business School in 2012.

I am involved in research projects to understand the regulation of local government. My other research interests are focused on state-society relations in the context of economic development in both mature and emerging economies.
