Postdoctoral Research Officer in Cancer Biology, Bangor University

I am a postdoctoral research officer working in basic and translational cancer research. I am currently working on a project which looks into the role of Brachyury in colorectal (bowel) cancer. Brachyury is a transcription factor expressed during embryonic development which is switched off in most adult cells. Recent work has demonstrated Brachyury expression in several different typoes of cancer where it has been shown to control various aspects of cancer biology, making it a potentially attractive biomarker and drug target.

In 2017, I achieved my PhD, which looked at how DNA repair molecules in our cells can interfere with the effectiveness of a specific type of chemotherapy drug.
