I am a Senior Professor in the Department of Political Studies and Governance at the University of the Free State. I am Extraordinary Professor in the School of Government at North-West University, a Visiting Professor in the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Military Science at Stellenbosch University. I am a Visiting Professor in the Department of History and Politics at Nelson Mandela University and Visiting Professor at the Osaka School of International Public Policy at Osaka University in Japan. I am also a Senior Research Associate of the Jerusalem-based think tank Research on Islam and Muslims in Africa (RIMA).
