Professor in Geography, The University of Melbourne

My research is into fluvial geomorphology (erosion and sedimentation processes in rivers), but also into water and river management, with a special interest in aquatic restoration. I have been at the University of Melbourne since 2000, but I took five years out to work in the Victorian public service as a senior bureaucrat in the water sector. I have worked on the management of rivers in all Australian states, as well as through Asia, the US, UK, and Africa.
