Associate Professor of Biology, Penn State

Iliana B Baums is an Associate Professor of Biology in PSU's Eberly College of Science. Her lab studies the ecological and evolutionary processes that shape populations of reef-building corals. Recently, with global climate change impacting coral populations, she has focused her attention on adaptive variation in coral populations with the goal of predicting and/or preventing coral declines. Her research interests include climate change and global warming, ecology, evolutionary biology, genetics, genomics, marine biology and population genetics.
