Irina Rafliana

Currently a PhD researcher working at the DIE (German Development Institute), with DAAD scholarship award. Also work as science communication officer in LIPI. Have been working on tsunami and disaster risk reduction issue since 2005 until now. Currently working on the research thesis on social constructions of technology in the tsunami warning system. Also currently take part as member of the Indonesian Social Science Panel of Disasters, affiliated to LIPI and BNPB (National Disaster Management Agency). Involved as advisor for the Youth and Young Professional in Science, Engineering, Technology and Innovation for Disaster Resilience (U-INSPIRE) in Indonesia. Was the previous member of the Global Science and Technology Advisory group for Disaster Risk Reduction to the United Nations Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction.
