Dr Isabelle Uny is a researcher at the at the Institute for Social Marketing. She is a social scientist with a PhD in international health and development obtained in 2017 at Queen Margaret University in the area of maternal health. Her thesis explored perception of the implementation of a maternal health policy in Malawi. She also worked for over a decade for various international development organisations including as a programmes officer for the UKNC for UNESCO.

Isa's research to date focuses on two main areas: health behavioural change ( particularly in maternal health) and policy analysis (particularly global policy). Isa is primarily a qualitative health researcher with significant expertise in qualitative inquiry methods and qualitative analysis, as well as in qualitative evidence synthesis (particularly meta-ethnography).
