Professor of Economics, University of Southampton

I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of Southampton. I am an applied economist with an interest in Labour Economics, Development Economics and Applied Micro-econometrics.

I am a research fellow of the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) in Germany, CReAM (Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration) in London and the Economic Research Forum in Cairo.

I lead the Migration Research at the ESRC Centre for Population Change at the University of Southampton.

I acted as an academic consultant in international migration and labour markets for several international organisations including the World Bank, OECD and IOM.

I am a member of the UK Government's Migration Advisory Committee (MAC).
