Senior Lecturer, Edge Hill University

Dr Leigh is currently working as a Senior Lecturer for the Social Work department at Edge Hill University. Prior to this she has worked in child protection agencies in both the statutory and voluntary sector. She has been carrying out research exploring professional identity and culture in child protection social work for the past 4 years.She has had articles published with the Qualitative Research Journal and the Journal of Social Work. She is in the process of writing a book on the subject called Blame, culture and child protection: Notes from behind the scenes of a demonised profession, which she hopes to have published next year in order to encourage organisations to adopt new ways of working. On 27th of March 2014 she is due to give a public lecture with Steve Hothersall at Edge Hill University called "Organisational Cultures & Professional Knowledge: Conflict or Congruence?"
