James Morris is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Addictive Behaviours Research at London South Bank University. His research focuses on alcohol related issues including stigma, harmful drinking and the psychological underpinnings of alcohol problem recognition.

James has 20 years experience in the alcohol field having worked in policy, commissioning and training roles. He has been editor and lead writer for www.alcoholpolicy.net since 2009, and Director of a social enterprise focused on the delivery of skills and knowledge advancement in the alcohol and public health field. He was a lead author of forthcoming clinical guidelines on harmful drinking and dependence.

James is presently Chair of the New Directions in the Study of Alcohol Group and hosts the Alcohol 'Problem' Podcast
