Jean Monnet Fellow (European University Institute) & Reader in History, Edge Hill University
I am interested in race, especially antisemitism and Islamophobia; Empire; and the intellectual history of global politics.
I am the co-editor with Ben Gidley of, Antisemitism and Islamophobia in Europe: A Shared Story? (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017), and the author of The Zionist Masquerade: The Birth of the Anglo-Zionist Alliance, 1914-1918 (Palgrave Macmillan, 2007).
I am writing a history of the European idea of the Middle East and its consequences.
