Jane Tynan is a lecturer at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.
She researches the politics of design and visual culture. Currently her work concerns visual and material cultures of conflict, in particular the design of bodies for war. Her book British Army Uniform and the First World War: Men in Khaki, published by Palgrave in 2013, explores the political, social and cultural significance of uniforms worn by British combatants on the western front.
