Jenna L Hennebry

Dr. Jenna Hennebry (Ph.D.) is an internationally recognized scholar, founding Director of the International Migration Research Centre (www.imrc.ca ), and Professor at Wilfrid Laurier’s Balsillie School of International Affairs. She has carried out research with migrant agricultural workers in Canada for 15 years. Her areas of expertise include migrant workers’ rights, health and social protection, gender and global migration governance. Dr. Hennebry has carried out policy relevant research on labour migration governance and migrant workers in countries such as Canada, Morocco, Mexico, the Philippines, and Spain, among others. Her work has been funded by the Social Science and Humanities Council of Canada, UN Women, the Government of Spain, the Workplace Safety Insurance Board, and numerous other agencies. Her work has been published in scholarly journals and by agencies at the national and global level, and her expertise has also been widely recognized internationally. She is a member of the IOM’s Migration Research Experts Syndicate, and she has been an invited expert speaker at numerous UN fora, such as the Global Forum for Migration and Development, the 6th Thematic Session of the Global Compact for Migration in Geneva (http://refugeesmigrants.un.org/labour-mobility, and numerous other global and national fora.
