Jim Macnamara is Professor of Public Communication at the University of Technology Sydney. He joined UTS after a distinguished 30-year career in professional communication practice spanning journalism, public relations, advertising and media research. His professional career included founding and serving as CEO the Asia Pacific franchise of global media analysis firm, CARMA International for more than a decade. Jim holds a BA in journalism, media studies and literary studies, an MA by research in media studies, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in media research, and is the author of 15 books including 'The 21st Century Media (R)evolution: Emergent Communication Practices' published by Peter Lang, New York (second edition 2014) and 'Public Relations Theories, Practices, Critiques' published by Pearson in 2012.
