Joachim Knab is a PhD-student in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Cologne. He works for the CRC “Future Rural Africa” in the subproject “Framing Futures – Temporal Frames of Reference in Land Conversion” and conducted fieldwork in a communal conservation area in the Zambezi region of North-Eastern Namibia on questions how practices and discourses of temporality are negotiated in the context of nature-conservation.
