Joanna Gavins

My research focuses on the cognition of language and on how we conceptualise literary language in particular. I have published a range of books and articles on language in the mind, the cognition of literature, and the language of Absurdist literature specifically. My most recent research has examined the conceptual experience of reading poetry and I am currently writing a book on the cognition of contemporary poetic style.
