John Bell is a Practitioner/Teacher in Primary Health Care at the Graduate School of Health, University of Technology Sydney.

He is also Corporate Relations Consultant for the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) and Advisor to the Pharmacy Self Care program – the consumer health information and pharmacist and pharmacy assistant training program managed by PSA. John is a Board member of Medic Alert Australia and Diabetes New South Wales. He is also a member of the Global Respiratory Infection Partnership – an international multidisciplinary group established to address the issue of antibiotic resistance.

John has served as President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, The Australian College of Pharmacy Practice, The Commonwealth Pharmacists’ Association, Vice President of the International Pharmaceutical Federation and as a member of the Medication Continuity Expert Advisory Group of the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care
Since 1969 John has been in community pharmacy practice in Sydney’s eastern suburbs providing specialist services to nursing homes, hostels and private hospitals.
