John Fanning

John was appointed Lecturer in Law at the School of Law and Social Justice in August 2013. Prior to taking up his post, John was a Ph.D student at the University of Liverpool between 2009 and 2013. His doctoral thesis, which was part-funded by a grant from Mersey Care NHS Trust, a Modern Law Review Scholarship and a Graduate Teaching Assistantship, is titled 'Risk and the Mental Health Act 2007: Jeopardising Liberty, Facilitating Control?'. John is a graduate of the University of Liverpool and City University London. He is also a qualified barrister and a member of the Honourable Society of Gray's Inn.
