John Germov is a Professor of Sociology with research interests spanning the social origins of food and alcohol habits, public health nutrition, sociology of obesity, ethical consumption, and workplace change. He has published 24 books, most recently the 6th edition of his social determinants of health reader, Second Opinion (2019), the 4th edition of his introductory text, Public Sociology (2019, with A/Prof Marilyn Poole), Hunter Wine: A History (2018, with Dr Julie McIntyre), and the 4th edition of A Sociology of Food and Nutrition: The Social Appetite (2017, with Professor Lauren Williams).
