Jonas Raninen

I'm a social scientist specialized in alcohol epidemiology. My research has focussed on the drinking habits of the general population; how these are shaped, why they change and the consequences they have both for the individual and society. A special interest has been the major decline observed among youth since the turn of the millennium. This work has mainly revolved around trying to understand why this change has occurred, but in recent years has also shifted to what this change means as these generations grow older and enter adulthood.
