My first academic position was at the University of Maryland from Sept. 1986 until January 1990. In January 1990 I went to the University of Michigan until September 2011. In September 2011, I moved to Michigan State University to build and direct the CREATE for STEM institutie. In 2015 I was invested as the Lappan-Phillips Professor of Science Education.
