Joseph W. Reustle

SPIRE Postdoctoral Scholar, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Dr. Reustle is an Oglala Lakota marine ecologist and SPIRE Postdoctoral Scholar at UNC Chapel Hill and the Institute of Marine Sciences. He received his Ph.D. in Marine Biology from the SMEE lab at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi in May of 2020 where he studied community ecology, predator-prey interactions, and marine parasitology. Prior to Texas bays and estuaries, Dr. Reustle worked within the rocky-intertidal of his home-state of California. He was also an NSF GRFP awardee and remains an active member of AGEP-TxARM and SACNAS.
