Dr Karen O’Connell joined the Faculty of Law at the University of Technology, Sydney in 2010, as a Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Prior to joining UTS she worked in human rights law and policy at the Australian Human Rights Commission. Karen completed her masters and doctoral degrees at Columbia University in New York. She has particular expertise in discrimination and equality laws, including sexual harassment, sex and disability discrimination. Her current recent focuses on law and emerging biotechnologies of the body, particularly neuroscience and genetics.
