Paediatrician and Associate Professor, UNSW Sydney

Associate Professor Karen Zwi is Consultant Community Paediatrician and Conjoint Associate Professor at the University of New South Wales. She has been centrally involved in service development for refugee children in NSW .

She previously represented the Royal College of Physicians on an independent federal advisory group addressing the health of refugee children, children in detention and asylum seekers. As a practicing Community Paediatrician, she aims to improve children’s health, wellbeing and development, with a focus on equity and highly vulnerable children.

In 2014, she was appointed as a Paediatric Adviser to the Australian Human Rights Commission Inquiry into Children in Immigration Detention.
