I completed a doctoral dissertation on the poetry of Seamus Heaney. I am currently a post-doctoral researcher working under the supervision of Professor Louise Bethlehem in the European Research Council Project "Apartheid--The Global Itinerary: South African Cultural Formations in Transnational Circulation, 1948-1990." I am working on six exiled South African poets: Dennis Brutus, Breyten Breytenbach, Mazisi Kunene, Arthur Nortje, Keorapetse Kgositsile and Mongane Serote
