Kate Flinders works at the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) in Scottsdale, Tasmania. Kate graduated from the University of Sydney with a Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2010. She also holds a Bachelor of Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Newcastle. Kate is a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA) and is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Accredited Nutritionist (AN).
Since joining DSTO in early 2011, she has been involved in providing guidance and advice to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) on food and nutrition issues in order to maintain and enhance the overall health and wellbeing of Australian soldiers for optimal physical performance and psychological stability.
