Kate Poole is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine & Health at the University of New South Wales. Her research seeks to understand how the cells in our bodies can sense and respond to mechanical inputs of forces. These kinds of processes underpin our sense of touch and pain, but can also regulate how our joints adapt to changes in activity or even how cancer cells feel their way through the body.
