Director Health Strategies, Cancer Council NSW & PhD student, University of Sydney

As Director of Health Strategies, Kathy Chapman is responsible for leading the cancer prevention work of Cancer Council NSW in nutrition, policy and advocacy, tobacco control as well as the SunSmart program. This includes research and development, implementation and evaluation of programs to encourage Australians to be healthier.

Kathy has worked at Cancer Council since 2002 and has grown the organisation's focus on nutrition and cancer prevention both in NSW and nationally. Kathy is also the chair of Cancer Council Australia’s Nutrition and Physical Activity and the Coalition on Food Advertising to Children.

Kathy has a Bachelor of Science degree and Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics and she is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney. She is an accredited practicing dietitian and has 18 years experience working in both public health and clinical settings.
