Kathy Sanders completed a BSc (Hons) and PhD at the University of Western Australia. She was appointed lecturer in Anatomy & Human Biology in 2002.

Kathy's research focuses on human reproduction with a particular emphasis on the impact of psychosocial and energetic stress on fertility and the outcome of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), and the stress buffering effect of supportive social relationships. Psychosocial aspects of donor conception is also an area of focus.

Other research examines the influence of family composition and resources on child survival and growth in rural Timor-Leste.
