Ph.D. Student of Cognitive Science, University of California, Merced

I'm a PhD student in a Cognitive Science program at UC Merced. I am an Indian citizen, presently residing in the US for my educational goals. I have a Master's in Science with a specialization in Biology. Coming from a highly inter-disciplinary training, I love science and research in all its forms and niches. Currently, my work and research interests focus on the cognitive aspects of search and foraging, adaptive behavior, collective cognition, cultural evolution, and complex systems.

My research alter-ego, on the other hand, spends time thinking about different cultures, religions and their histories. My Indian upbringing merged with my love for science and arts has cultivated an interest in India's rich past, its history and philosophies. Owing to that, I am an avid reader of historical and religion-based books that offer new perspectives on our pasts, centuries-old stories and traditions. I hope that I can contribute to these ideas from the lens of my training as a scientist, too.
