Senior Research Fellow - School of Education and the Arts, Australian Catholic University

Education author and commentator specialising in curriculum analysis and evaluation and school choice. Kevin also writes on political and social issues including the the significance of Western culture and Christianity in a multicultural society, the place of gender theory in education and the importance of cultural identity.

Kevin recently received on Order of Australia for services to education.

In addition to being a Senior Research Fellow at the ACU Kevin is also Director of the Education Standards Institute, a small think-tank dedicated to autonomy, diversity and choice in education. Kevin recently reviewed the Australian national curriculum for the Commonwealth Government.

Kevin is a graduate from La Trobe University and he taught for 18 years in government and non-government secondary schools. He was a member of the Victorian Board of Studies, the Year 12 English Panel of Examiners, marker of scripts for Year 12 English and Literature and a member of the Commonwealth funded Discovering Democracy Programme. Kevin has benchmarked school curriculum in an international context for the Victorian and Commonwealth governments and was also involved in the Commonwealth's inquiry into Boys' Education and the Australian Certificate of Education.

Kevin is one of Australia's leading education authors and commentators with over 600 comment pieces in the print and electronic media and regular appearances on radio and TV. Books authored include: Why Our Schools are Failing, Dumbing Down, Australia's Education Revolution, Educating Your Child; It's Not Rocket Science and Taming the Black Dog.
