Associate Professor of Political Science, Fairleigh Dickinson University

Dr. Kattelman received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Missouri in 2013. He arrived at Fairleigh Dickinson in the fall of 2015, having previously served as a Mizzou Advantage Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Missouri and a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science & Public Administration at Mississippi State University. Courses taught at Fairleigh Dickinson include Introduction to Political Science, Public Policy, Political Thought and Theory, and Politics and Ethics, among others. His main research interests concern national security, terrorism and counterterrorism, and coalition staiblity. Recent publications include the success of coalitions in the War on Terror and cooperation over participation in counterterrorist endeavors. Dr. Kattelman is currently exploring the role of the United Nations and its ability to adapt to the changing role of the 21st century security threat.
