Clinical Teaching Specialist - Mathematics and Literacy Education, Faculty of ESTeM, University of Canberra, University of Canberra

As a Clinical Teaching Specialist at the University of Canberra, Kylie teaches Mathematics and Literacy Education in the Bachelor of Education degree. Effective teaching pedagogy and quality classroom experiences predominately feature in her work with pre service teachers. Kylie is passionate about developing high quality teachers, through the effective sharing of knowledge, skills and expertise and reflective practices.

Kylie has 15 years experience in both primary school education and adult learning. She has lead school based and system wide professional learning in her time with the ACT ETD. She is also highly invested in Educational Leadership and has presented her work in this area at the 2011 ACEL National Conference.

Kylie's research interests include the use of picture books to support mathematics, teacher efficacy and student achievement, purposeful integration of technology in Mathematics and the links between Neuroscience and education. Kylie is undertaking her Master of Education and is collaborating on several research projects.

Kylie is a member of several professional organisations, including Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers (AAMT), Australian Literacy Educator's Association (ALEA) and Australian Council for Educational Leaders (ACEL).
