Larry Bennett teaches courses on American politics, focusing on cities, urban politics, and urban policy. His book, Neighborhood Politics: Chicago and Sheffield (1997), compared grassroots activism in Chicago and the English city of Sheffield, North Yorkshire. Professor Bennett’s most recent book is The Third City: Chicago and American Urbanism (2010). It received the “Certificate of Excellence—Scholarly Publication” award from the Illinois State Historical Society.
