An anthropologist by training, Laura’s background spans arts, humanities and social sciences. She values genuinely interdisciplinary collaborative research and is currently employed in socio-legal research on UK social policy. Prior to her work at University of Birmingham's School of Social Policy, and Birmingham Law School, Laura's research mainly focused on cultural politics and environmental issues in Indonesia. She worked for many years as an editor, translator, and project manager. Laura is also network facilitator for the Criminal Law Reform Now Network and assistant editor of Indonesia and the Malay World.
