Laura is currently undertaking a PhD through the University of Tasmania looking into the responses of public housing tenants to estate renewals and associated gentrification. She is also a researcher at the Institute for Sustainable Futures at the University of Technology Sydney. Laura's research focuses in the areas of urban sustainability, city resilience and housing. With a background in urban planning and sustainability, Laura conducts research projects focused on improving justice, equity and liveability in our cities.

Laura has recently undertaken projects relating to the future of peri-urban agriculture in the Sydney Basin, and cohousing as a housing alternative for Australian seniors.
