Lavenia Ratnarajah

Postdoctoral Research Associate, University of Liverpool

Lavenia graduated with a BSc in Environmental Management from Monash University and subsequently completed her Honours in Zoology from the University of Tasmania. She then worked at the United Nations and in various research facilities in Australia, USA, Ecuador and Malaysia before undertaking her PhD at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies and the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Cooperative Research Centre at the University of Tasmania.

She is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Liverpool investigating the potential effects of natural iron and carbon fertilisation by whales on the Southern Ocean carbon cycle.
