My PhD (ECU Western Australia) explored the social construct of gender in higher education and the influence of the heterosexual intimate relationship on women students' autonomy and opportunity.
I also hold a MSc in Health Professional Education and two BSc honours degrees (Applied Biology and Public Health Nurse Specialist). I am also a registered nurse and health visitor (UK). Between 1997 and 2007 I worked as a public health nurse specialist and team leader with deprived and marginalised communities in the North of England.
Between 2007 and 2010 I worked as a senior lecturer in the UK (Universities of Huddersfield and Leeds) and since 2010 I have worked as an researcher/scholar at Edith Cowan University, WA, in the School of Medical and Health Sciences and School of Nursing and Midwifery.
