Senior Lecturer, Nursing, Edith Cowan University

My PhD (ECU Western Australia) explored the social construct of gender in higher education and the influence of the heterosexual intimate relationship on women students' autonomy and opportunity.

I also hold a MSc in Health Professional Education and two BSc honours degrees (Applied Biology and Public Health Nurse Specialist). I am also a registered nurse and health visitor (UK). Between 1997 and 2007 I worked as a public health nurse specialist and team leader with deprived and marginalised communities in the North of England.

Between 2007 and 2010 I worked as a senior lecturer in the UK (Universities of Huddersfield and Leeds) and since 2010 I have worked as an researcher/scholar at Edith Cowan University, WA, in the School of Medical and Health Sciences and School of Nursing and Midwifery.
