Linda Zou

Professor Linda Zou commenced her academic and research career as a lecturer in 1999 and was promoted to senior lecturer at Deakin University Australia in 2005; she took up an Associate Professor position at Victoria University in Melbourne in 2006; she was promoted to the Research Professor position at the University of South Australia in 2010. Her research interests are in the areas of developing nanostructured materials such as membranes, adsorbents and electrodes for more efficient water purification and desalination technologies. At Khalifa University, she led the “ground-breaking” research project on using nanotechnology to develop cloud seeding materials, which was awarded by the inaugural UAE Research Program on Rain Enhancement Science for 2016-2019. She has published numerous journal articles with an H-index of 58 (Google Scholar, 2022), invented several 2D nanomaterial-related patents, and is invited frequently as a keynote speaker at membrane and nanomaterials conferences. She has successfully graduated 15 PhD students as main advisor, and currently supervises 4 PhD students. In 2019, she is among the first 20 recipients of the UAE Government's Golden Visa for scientific excellence. Prof Zou is among the Top 2 percent of Scientists by Stanford University ranking in 2020 and 2021.
