I received a first class honours degree from Trinity College Dublin in the field of Molecular Medicine. During my degree I worked in the lab of Dr. Colm Cunningham on inflammation in the ageing brain. After completing my degree, I worked as a research assistant in that same lab and contributed to a publication that has now been submitted to Brain, Behaviour & Immunity for review. I then started my PhD at the University of Glasgow under the supervision of Prof. Christopher Linington, Dr. Julia Edgar and Dr. Marieke Pingen. I am now almost finished the third year of my PhD project where I have studied a subset of antibodies in multiple sclerosis patients that we have shown to have antiviral activity. My research was recently published in Acta Neuropathologica Communications (see link here https://rdcu.be/b7Nwl ).
