Lecturer, Post Graduate Co-ordinator Communication (Public Relations), Victoria University

Maree Keating teaches Organisational Communication and Public Relations units within the postgraduate Communication program, and teaches Gender Studies undergraduate units. She has co-ordinated the postgraduate Communication (PR) program at Victoria University since 2011.

Her disseration and subsequent research explored the changing sense of agency and belonging amongst workers retrenched from a textile factory in Melbourne's West. Maree currently conducts research and supervises theses in public relations, organisational communication and media studies, as well as gender, work and public policy.

Before working as a trade union researcher and then an academic, Maree managed Oxfam development programs in Asia and gender policy in the UK, and worked as an adult educator, co-ordinating language and literacy programs with Western suburbs workers.
