Visiting Fellow, University of Reading

Dr Marek Kubik is a Visiting Fellow at Reading University and an industry supervisor to post doctoral research at Queens University Belfast. He also works for Fluence Energy, the world leader in grid scale advanced battery energy storage technology.

Marek has held various academic, industry and policy advisory roles in a number of countries working on the challenges and solutions to renewable energy variability. He holds a Masters in Engineering from Durham University and an Engineering Doctorate from the University of Reading. He was recognised as the Energy Institute’s Young Energy Professional of the Year in 2015, and named on Forbes' 30 Under 30 list in 2017 as one of the most important young entrepreneurs and creative leaders in the energy industry.

Marek's doctoral research focused on the integration of renewables with existing electricity systems. He has eighteen published papers to date in leading international journals and conference proceedings.
