Emeritus Professor, Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society, La Trobe University

Professor Marian Pitts was Director of the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS), La Trobe University, and is now Emeritus Professor.

Marian has advised State and Federal Ministerial committees related to sexual health and STIs, the World Health Organization, the Ford Foundation, and the New Zealand Ministry of Health. She has served on panels for the National Health and Medical Research Council and for the Australian Research Council. She was the Scientific co-Chair of AIDS 2014, to be held in Melbourne in July.

She has published more than 150 journal articles in the broad area of sex, sexuality and sexual health.
